The Cost Coalition endorsed Sherrill in October, as reported by Fox News. Former George W. Bush and Boehner spokesperson Terry Holt and former Biden spokesperson Andrew Bates released the following statement congratulating Sherrill:
“When Washington Republicans cut off funding for the Gateway Tunnel project, Mikie Sherrill fought for New Jersey’s economy. But Jack Ciattarelli gave those policies an ‘A+.’ That’s not leadership; that’s weakness.
“Mikie Sherrill is a proven fighter for New Jersey families who defeated an overhyped opponent because she respected voters’ intelligence and told the truth about why costs are rising. Where Jack Ciattarelli was a rubber stamp for the Washington policies that are making energy and health bills skyrocket, and wouldn’t lift a finger against the tariffs that are hurting working families, Mikie Sherrill fought for the bottom line of New Jersey families. She refused to let politics get in the way of New Jersey’s energy needs, called for reversing the tax giveaways to the rich that are growing our debt, and will slash red tape holding back housing construction and infrastructure.
“That’s why the bipartisan Cost Coalition endorsed Sherrill last month.
“Virginia and New Jersey voters have now repudiated the broken Washington policies that are cutting taxes for the rich while raising costs for everyone else. With tomorrow’s tariff case in front of the Supreme Court shows, affordability will continue to dominate the agenda of American voters - and Congress members who don’t understand the assignment will lose.”
