Bipartisan Cost Coalition Statement: Another Court Ruling Confirms Trump’s Price-Hiking Tariffs are Illegal

Supreme Court must consider case quickly to provide relief and certainty to American consumers and businesses

From Cost Coalition Advisers Terry Holt, a Republican, and Andrew Bates, a Democrat:

“A panel of 11 federal judges just confirmed that Trump’s tariffs, which are raising the prices he promised to lower, are illegal. The President claims that the court’s decision could 'destroy America,' but the destruction is already taking place in surging inflation, economic uncertainty and billions in new taxes.  The Supreme Court should take this case up without delay so that Americans can feel relief from the most crushing tax hike on working people since the Great Depression.”
