Bipartisan Cost Coalition: Republicans and Democrats should unite against new tariff surge

Cost Coalition Advisers Terry Holt, a Republican, and Andrew Bates, a Democrat, released the following statement on President Trump’s new wave of tariffs:

“Donald Trump’s latest tax hike on working families is deepening America’s affordability crisis. These new tariffs rob the middle class to reward billionaires with inflationary tax windfalls - raising prices even more. Both parties need to stand up for their constituents’ livelihoods, against an agenda that’s lowering economic growth, killing jobs, devastating manufacturing, and making our debt explode. Like Republican Senator Rand Paul said yesterday, ‘conservatives have to decide -- do they like taxes because they're Donald Trump's taxes?’”

The Cost Coalition, a bipartisan organization launched in May, is dedicated to restoring the promise of the American Dream and fighting for the economic interests of middle class families.
